'Honeymoon Express' Story Code '65411' by Donald P. Bellisario

Called before a Senate committee reviewing the funding for the Quantum Leap project, Al attempts to convince them that God has taken over the project. Meanwhile, Sam, in the body of a cop, saves a cat up a tree; he then leaps into police lieutenant Tom McBride, on 27th April 1960 – the first day of his honeymoon with his new wife, Diane, as the newlyweds travel on the ‘Honeymoon Express’, the train line that runs from New York to Niagara Falls. Realising that Diane’s father is a senator and a good friend of the President, Al asks Sam to prove his existence in the past to the Senate by altering history, preventing the launch of the U2 spy plane that will be shot down by the Russians. However, Sam is more concerned with helping Diane pass her exams – and from stopping her ex-husband from kidnapping her…
